NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Deck was added in 1992. 1997- 2-story, English Tudor Revival house on 13.6 acres of land. Largely sheathed with Lannon stone - single-gabled dormer is covered with wood shingles. Two steeply-pitched gabled projections, prominent chimney , tall, narrow window groupings with multiple lights. A gabled garage and a shed (chicken house) are also located on the property. Charles C. Bauer (profession undetermined) commissioned an architect to design the residence in 1936. Prior to construction of this hosue the property was reportedly a game farm. A copy of the original plans, entitled "An English Home on Highway 59, in Waukesha Wisconsin" is in the possession of the current owners. The drawing's title and job number are intact, but the architect's name has been cut off. It is possible, though speculative, that the house was designed by Alexander C. Bauer of Milwaukee.
