Film roll 7 negatives are filed with the Menomonee Valley Intensive Survey negatives. February/March 2003-This two story structure is constructed of a steel frame and truss roof, while the walls are concrete block that have been sheathed with face brick. When surveyed in 1980, the original window openings were still open; however, they have since been completely infilled or downsized and new windows have been installed. Built in 1925, this building, known as the City of Milwaukee Municipal Services Building or #28;Central Shop,#29; was constructed to serve the following three departments: Municipal Equipment, Water Meter Division and the Bureau of Electrical Services (noted as its current occupant in 1980). A new repair garage for the Municipal Equipment Department was completed in 1979, just eight blocks west on Canal Street. 2016 - appearance unchanged since previous survey. |
