Additional Information:Slight ran the kiln until 1866, when he started renting it out to other families until at least 1880.

In the 1870 census, John Geutzlaff and Company was operating the lime kiln, which produced 20,000 bushels of lime valuing $5,500 in 1869. No other lime kilns were identified in Dodge County in the 1870 census.
