(1) HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The building was originally called Vogel Hall after Louies Pfister Vogel (1857-1948), whose family donated money to the college. UWM re-named the building in 1961 for writer Hamlin Garland (1860-1940), who was born in West Salem, Wisconsin. dormitory |
