NOTES
Additional Information:Historic name interpreted from historic plats.

This two-story dwelling rests on a fieldstone base that has been largely plastered with a concrete veneer. A hip-roof, one story, open porch extends across the facade. It has both wooden posts and a wooden column as supports. Fishscale shingles in the gabled peak of the north elevation and within a gablet centered on the north roof line of the wing. Fenestration includes one-over-one, double-hung sashes, some of which contain metal-framed replacements.

Harvey Hinman was among the earliest farmers at this site. Notably, the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad essentially bisected he farmstead by 1860. I is likely that either Hinman or the subsequent owner, Jacob Johnson, was responsible for building the extant house by circa 1870. By 1910, William M. Powers was the owner. The farmestead remained in the Powers family through 1928; sometime before 1947, Joseph Rouche had assumed ownership.

Also on property is vertical board machine shed (AHI 117732)
