ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Excellent example of a large frame residence by this well known Milwaukee architect. This building has most of its elaborate ornamentation and possesses integrity of form and appearance.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:

Was built as the home of J. A. Meyers, partner in Meyers Bros. cut stone contractors. Meyers Bros. furnished the stone for the Pabst Hotel, Pabst Brewery and the Pfister and Vogel Tannery as well as many other important Milwaukee buildings. Mr. Meyers was also a member of this Wisconsin Legislature in 1897. 3,4
