NOTES
Additional Information:The Rice-Hebblewhite Block is a two story commercial vernacular building of brick construction. It was originally built in 1868, but remodeled when it became part of the Fair Store complex around 1900. The building has a brick corbeled cornice and a stone belt course above the second story openings which are filled with modern glazing. The storefront is remodeled with its northern neighbor, filled in with brick and glass.

The Rice-Hebblewhite Block contributes to the architectural significance of the Main Street Historic District as an example of the commercial vernacular style. It contributes to the historical significance of the district because of its association with the Fair Store, one of the most important department stores in the city during the twentieth century.
