NOTES
Additional Information:2015- "Finished with stucco, this one-and-one-half-story Craftsman bungalow is faced with brick along the first floor, while the upper half-story is sheathed with stucco. The side-gabled roofline extends to form the porch roof that is supported by two, single brick piers. The porch shelters the projecting central entrance, as well as a tripartite window grouping. To the left (south) of the door is a bay with four windows along the first floor and which terminates as a clipped gable wall dormer along the upper floor. Above the porch is a gabled roof dormer; both dormers are accented with wooden knee braces. Windows along the primary (east) elevation are three-over-one-light examples, while many of the others are one-over-one-light replacements. A small, one-story brick porch projects from the north side of the house, while a secondary entrance is evident along the home’s south elevation.

Designed by architect Robert H. Schmitz, this house was originally built in 1916 for Edward Bastian and his wife Bertha. Edward was a tailor and worked out of the home. Also living in the house as of 1920 were the Bastians’ two children and Bertha’s mother. Between 1921 and 1922, the Bastians moved a few blocks north and the house was sold to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation, at which time it became the home of Rev. Karl F. Dietz. The house remains in possession of the adjacent church."
