Additional Information:1979:
Excellent example of brick double flat. Typical features are applied carved decoration on gable verge boards, sawn shallow brackets double tapered board separating end floor from gable, and square brick posts supporting porch.
Construction date, 1906. Alteration, 1911. (1)
M. Carroll, Owner, 1911. (2)

2015- "This two-and-one-half-story, Queen Anne-inspired brick duplex features a pair of entrances along its primary (west) elevation, both of which are sheltered by a flat-roofed, open front porch with brick pier supports. Both the first and second stories are faced with brick, while the gabled peak is covered with wooden shingles. Windows throughout the house are largely one-over-one-light, double-hung replacements; however, two original windows, each with a decorative wooden upper sash, remain within the gabled peak. A replacement upper porch railing is in place.

The building permit on file indicates a 1906 date of construction; however, the name of the owner is unclear/difficult to discern. City directories identify a succession of renters in the duplex, including bookkeeper Charles Schmidt (1907, 1908), physician and hospital supply dealer Eduard Karrer and his family (1909, 1910), and Charles and Belle Nebel (1910). Permits indicate that the house was, for a time (as of 1948), used as a rooming house and was owned by Otto Schweitzer."
