NOTES
Additional Information:ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Fine example of a typical brick 2-story store/flat of this date. Excellent original pedimented cornice and unusual arch over second floor windows. Possesses integrity of form and appearance. Construction date, 1888. (Gable Panel, 1) A datestone indicates an 1888 date of construction and a later building permit cites a 1914 rear addition designed by Gustave Dick. A series of short-tenured businesses – including Bitker’s Clothing Store – occupied this building in the 1910s and 1920s. Snader’s Credit Clothing operated here from the mid 1930s until at least 1950. The building presently operates as a convenience store. 2015- "This Queen Anne-style commercial building rises two stories and is faced with brick. A recessed entrance and modern plate-glass windows comprise the storefront. The upper-level facade features thin brick pilasters at the corners, as well as between a solidary window opening and a large segmental arch outfitted with two additional window openings. All three openings are infilled with wood. The elaborate cornice features paired brackets and is topped with a pedimented gablet at the east end that displays 1888 within a scrollwork ornament.
