Construction date, 1880. (1) Bakery, c. 1894. (2) Sanborn maps and city directories suggest that this building was constructed in the 1880s and first operated as a dry goods store. From the early 1920s until 1959 it was bakery operated in succession by John Vavra, John Lindemann and Arthur Schneeweis. The building today appears to operate as a residence. 2015- "This two-stmy, front-gabled, frame commercial building has a storefront covered with sheet metal and an upper facade covered with clapboard; the two levels are divided by a small pent covered with wooden shingles. The downsized one-over-one, double-hung sashes are topped with a raised hood. A four-pane oculus window pierces the gabled peak.
