Additional Information: | ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Good example exhibiting integrity of form. Construction date, circa 1910. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This building was a part of Trostel and Sons, Phoenix Tannery, Albert Trostel and Sons and is one of Milwaukee's oldest and largest tanneries. Established in 1858 they were employing 350 persons in 1892 and had a capacity of 1000 hides a day. NE - RED/DFetal 10/6/82 - ETS 660-82. NEL - RAB 12/17/90. Six story rectangular industrial brick building with the facade divided into pairs of windows. Narrow rectangular white tower at one end. |
