It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. 1998- This farmstead consists of a bank barn (this entry), a log barn (AHI #0114678), over a dozen outbuildings (AHI #0114681) and a house (AHI #0114667). The bank barn was built on a raised fieldstone foundation, a construction method typical on the farms of German Immigrants in the area. This farmstead reflects the strong German agricultural tradition of Ozaukee County. Bavarian immigrant Johann Raess was the first of at least three generations of one German-American family whose association with the farmstead began around the the middle of the nineteenth century. |
