Additional Information: | Previously surveyed in 1983 with map code 103/23. Map name was 389. 2014- "Junior Court Apartments is a three-story Prairie-style building with classical details, designed by the firm Martin Tullgren & Sons and constructed in 1922. It has a rectangular plan and is clad in red brick. It has a flat roof with a parapet and a simple decorative limestone cornice. Below the cornice, at the building’s corners, are rectangular limestone carvings. The entrance is a central projection, and decorative balustrade with a flat roof on the main (north) facade. The door has a simple, limestone surround with the words “JUNIOR COURT” carved into the center over the replacement glass door. Centered above the door surround is a limestone plaque with a shield. Above the door, on the second story, is a pair of replacement casement windows that do not fit the original opening and a wood surround has been added. The third story features a multi-part arch window with replacement panes. Remaining windows on the facade are one-over-one, double-hung replacements in groups of three." -"W Wisconsin Ave, 20th St-35th St", WisDOT #2190-00-00, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc. (2014). |
