Additional Information: | 2010: Sheathed with brick, this two-story, Neoclassical Revival-style commercial building features a modern plate-glass storefront that is topped with a facade-length, cornice-like stone band. Two large openings with ornamental stone surrounds pierce the second level and are outfitted with modern plate-glass windows. The plain brick parapet is capped with stone blocks and features three large and two small decorative stone insets. The side facades are common brick. Built in 1923, this building was the home in 1937 of a radio business operated by Charles E. Turnack. In 1950, the Alemite Company of Wisconsin operated a lubrication equipment business in the structure Resurveyed as part of Milwaukee Downtown Connector Arch/History Survey (2010), Prepared by Heritage Research. |
