South Side Historic District Walking Tour Guide, 1993: "The two Georgian Revival houses that stand along this short block present a sudden and pleasant aspect in the middle of the Southside Historic District. They look, at first, like a matched pair but a little scrutiny reveals their subtle differences. Edward and Julia Harvey's house displays more of the "revival" aspects of the style that were added in the twentieth century--like the flanking frame porches (one of which is enclosed) or the inset entryway. It has more pilasters and columns and the hint of a Palladian window above the front doorway. Mr. Harvey was president of Harvey Spring and Forging, which made wagon springs and later, automobile springs. In the 1940s this became the home of Fred Young Sr. and his wife, Edna. He founded the Young Radiator Company and they lived here into the 1980s."
