Wadewitz (1878-1955) purchased the Westside Printing Co. in 1908 and incorporated the firm as the Western Printing and Lithographing Co. in 1910. He then purchased the Whitman Publishing Co. of Chicago in 1916. His firm became one of the largest known lithoghaphing, children's books, and game manufacturers in the world. He was the company president from 1908-1953 and chairman of the board from 1953-1955. |
