1998-
In 1875, it appears that the sixty-seven acre property was occupied by J. Klocking, a German immigrant who settles in the township as early as 1857. However, by 1889, another German immigrant, Ernst Heidenreiter, had acquired the property. The 1889 Patron's Directory of the county atlas reveals that Heidenreiter's spread was called "Cottonwood Stock & Dairy Farm." Jersey, Holstein, and Short Horn cattle were bred on the farm, as were road horses, Chester White swine and Houden & Plymouth Rock chickens. Still consisting of sixty-seven acres, the property was purchased no later than 1912 by Carl Prange, a noted farmer in Sheboygan Falls township. and by 1915, the entire parcel had been turned over to his son, Otto. The farm remained in the Prange family until 1995, when Otto's son sold the land to the current owners.
