Additional Information: | Basically still intact except for original windows, which have now been replaced with modern ones, and modern metal awning. J.I. McFarland had an agricultural implelent business and then branched out into auto sales. 2020: The J.I. McFarland building is a one-story commercial building built in 1921. It is constructed of tile, clad in brick, and has a concrete foundation. The flat roof displays a stepped parapet with concrete coping along the front (west) facade. Windows are fixed, single-light replacements and are grouped at the west facade. Additional decorative details include a concrete water table wrapping from the west facade to the side (north) elevation, brick pilasters with concrete caps on the north elevation, and geometric brick header and concrete designs on the parapet. In addition to replacement windows, the recessed storefront and metal awning also represent alterations to the building. This building historically served as an automobile showroom. |
