Owners: Charles Kannenberg, c 1882 - 1911 George Ziegler, 1911 - 1913 Josephine Zummach, 1913 - ? 1973: "This house is part of a group of interesting, relatively well-preserved 19th century residences standing along North 14th Street between West Kilbourn Avenue and West State Street in the Mt. Sinai NDP Area and was, in 1973, included in the historic buildings survey of this neighborhood. Built for a confectioner, the Kannenberg house is an unpretentious wood home, given a good measureof charm by the ornamental wood trim at the vergeboard, window openings, and entrance porch of its facade. It survives in close to original form. There have been no significant alterations (as of 1973)." |
