Additional Information: | See Mt. Sinai File. Commonly known as the Bug House. Builder was Manson, Christensen & Ingleson 1973: "This building although originally a garage, was used by several organizations. The Merchant Police used the building as a garage, and Walter's Food Distributors, Inc., used the building for a period of time. Walter's makes dressings, cheese, Ma Baensch Herringm pickles and Weiss Noodles. Alterations and Additions (as of 1973): Permit No. 16479, July 18, 1921 - Garage was built for 12,000. Size, 50 feet front, 150 feet deep, one story, the highest point from the floor to the ceiling was 16 feet, and cubic contancts 90.000, a flat roof. Permit No. 5068, February 18, 1952 - For $600.00 partitions were put on the first floor of a non-computable construction to make separate shop and garage. Permit No. 67826A, March 2, 1954 - To close openings in the masonry wall, erect partitions for an effice to be 14 feet x 18 feet, to lower ceiling for a walk-in cooler, for $1,500.00." |
