Additional Information: | Concrete foundation. A demolition permit for this property was applied for on July 14, 2010 and another demolition permit application was applied for on July 13, 2011. This building was demolished in 2012. 2010- "This previously inventoried, Contemporary industrial/commercial office building is located on the south side of University Avenue. It faces north, toward University Avenue. The blocky, one-story building has an asymmetrical footprint and a one-and-one-half-story section located in its center. It rests on a poured concrete foundation and is faced with hued brick. Metal coping is visible on the flat roof. The building features design elements indicative of 1950s industrial/commercial architecture, window banding, elevated window placement, and patterned brick. It also features design indicative of the International Style, including boxy, brick construction, flat rooflines, and horizontal ribbon windows. The building maintains good integrity, although the fenestration has been altered by brick infill on the facade, and a brick pylon has been removed. A metal sculpture stands in front of the building. Called, "Up Reach," it was commissioned by Marshall Erdman, designed by California artist Bo von Hohenlohe, and installed in the early 1990s. It was not photographed because it is less than 20 years old." - "CTH MS (University Ave), Allen Boulevard-N Segoe Rd", WisDOT ID #5992-08-12(79), Prepared by Rachel E Bankowitz and Elizabeth L Miller (2010). |
