Additional Information: | 2010- This 2-story collegiate Gothic building was constructed c. 1920 as St. Rlta's School, but has since been adapted for commercial use. lt is irregular in plan with a concrete foundation, red brick walls, and all asphalt-shingled hipped roof. The front elevation faces west toward Douglas Avenue and is asymmetrical in plan. due to a c. 1970 1-story addition that wraps around the north and west sides of the building obscuring the bottom half of the school bullding. This addition has a concrete foundation, clapboard siding, and an asphalt-shingled flat roof. The front (west) elevation of the addition is asymmetrical in plan with T1-11 siding and large plate-glass show windows on each side of an off-center entrance. All windows In the original building have limestone sills and have been boarded over. A large red brick chimney protrudes from the center of the school building's roof behind a gabled entry bay that once dominated the school's facade. -"Douglas Ave. (STH 32)," WisDOT ID #2350-13-70, Prepared by Gail Klein (2010).
