Additional Information: | Demolition permit applied for 9/26/1984. This two story commercial Italianate building is unusual due to its two bay width. The upper story retains its original detailing including arched window hoods, cornice with gablet and peak window. The lower story storefront from slightly above th ewindow sill to grade has been modified by the installation of an oversize sign panel and blocking out the display windows. These are relatively recent changes, though it appears the storefront may have been renovated at least onece more in the past. Fair example of a small cream brick store with integrity of form. Originally George Spinte's Shoe Shop and residence. Locally designated district: 11/12/85. |
