Additional Information:STEEP GABLES W/ BARGE BOARDS POLYGONAL SIDE BAY W/ BRACKETED EAVE AND IRON ROOF CRESTING. The front porch was added in the early 20th century. The original side porch and door were removed in the 1960s and a rear door was added.

Norwegian immigrant Martin S. Field was the president of the Johnson and Field Company, manufacturers of farm machinery, bicycles, engines, and other goods. It was sold to real estate agent William H. Carpenter in 1903. He, with partner Jon D. Rowland, established a real estate and insurance company that still exists as CRB Insurance.
