| Additional Information: | Original section built 1923 for the Madison Nash Company, dealers in Nash automobiles. In 1929, that company moved to a new location on University Avenue. The subject building housed the Used Car Market in 1931, was vacant in 1933, and occupied by Pyramid Motor Company in 1935. Kayser Motors used cars division was housed in the building from at least 1937 until 1971. Doring Lincoln Mercury moved in in November 1971, there until general manager Owen Finnerty bought in 1977. Rowley & Schlimgen there from August 1979 until 1998. In 1980, Rowley & Schlimgen remodeled the exterior to its current appearance and added the stair/elevator tower. In 1998, a warehouse and canopy for truck parking was added to the building for the U.S. Post Office. The first floor of the building was used as a postal carrier annex until May 2025. Offices of QTI were on the second floor from 1998 until ca. 2023. Proposed for demolition June 1, 2025. |
