NOTES

Map code originally CT #/#; the CT presumably meant city and was stripped off. Photo code #2 is: D 106/37.

[B] Owen Williams and his wife, Jane, had built a house on this site by 1850, but that house was probably frame and no the substantial brick residence in the Italiante Style that stands today. Owen built a new house around 1878, six years after Jane died, by which time he had became a sucessful Racine contractore and builder. The house has been added to several times. Owen built the addition in the middle, along Ninth Street, in the early 1880s. In 1899 Dr. Walter Haven moved his family and his medical office here and practiced here until he died in 1925. He built the addition at the rear and the pillared porch across the front around the turn of the century. The Haven family lived here until 1959.
