| Additional Information: | This structure is representative of frame Victorian residences. Surveyed in 1986 with map code 260/13. Map name was LUQS 359. 2010: This is a one-and-one-half-story, clapboard-sided, front-gabled building with gabled and flat roof wings. It displays basic elements of the Italianate style. The first story contains a large, squared, bay window with a leaded glass transom. To the right of this window is a small porch with turned posts, a spindlework frieze and modern metal railings. Fenestration consists of one-over-one, double-hung windows resting under modest, arched decorative wooden hoods. A flat-roof, clapboard-sided block projects from the rear (southeast) of the building. Constructed circa 1884, this building lacks an original permit. In 1921, laborer Joseph Letizia and his wife Rose lived in the residence. By 1929, a commercial laundry was located on the first floor. In 1937, Jos. McRavey lived at the residence and Alois Stemplinger operated a shoe repair business. Resurveyed as part of Milwaukee Downtown Connector Arch/History Survey (2010), Prepared by Heritage Research. 2021: To be razed due to fire damage in 2019. |
