Additional Information: | GREEK REVIVAL STYLE HOUSE FIRST SURVEYED IN 1975. AT THAT TIME IT STILL RETAINED ITS ORIGINAL CLAPBOARD SIDING BUT ITS ORIGINAL MULTI-LIGHT WINDOWS HAD BEEN REPLACED WITH LATER ONE-OVER-ONE LIGHT ONES. WHEN RESURVEYED IN 2009, THE HOUSE HAD BEEN RESIDED IN NARROW GAUGE VINYL. FRONT GABLE FORM MAIN BLOCK IS TWO-STORIES-TALL AND ITS MAIN EAST-FACING ELEVATION HAS RETURNED EAVES AND AN ENTRANCE WITH TRANSOM AND SIDE LIGHTS. THE LESS WIDE AND LESS TALL ONE-AND-ONE-HALF-STORY REAR WING HAS A FULL-WIDTH SHED-ROOFED PORCH SPANNING ITS SOUTH ELEVATION. Originally housed the Mather Inn and was located 300 feet to the south on the NW corner of the intersection of USH 45 and CTH A/Plank Road. Moved to its current location prior to 1896. |
