Mason: Paul Reisen Builder: Frank Luenzman ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: This structure is a fine example of an early 20th century large residence. Its eclectic form and design is a combination of renaissance and revival modes of the period. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: A native of Germany, Frederick Kraus was born December 1843 in Braunschweig. He came to Milwaukee with his parents in 1847, of which his father helped to organize the Gallun Tanning Company. Kraus was a leader in the grain and feed business, having established with his brother-in-law the Faist and Kraus Milling Company. He also organized the Northwestside Kindergarten.
