Additional Information: | 2020 The East North Avenue Bridge (B-40-502) was originally built in 1925 and was replaced with a new superstructure in 1975. The bridge is located between N. Oakland Avenue to the east and N. Bartlett Avenue to the west and spans the former Chicago & North Western Railroad corridor, now the multi-use Oak Leaf trail. The bridge is a single-span, prestressed concrete deck girder structure with aluminum pedestrian railings with concrete decking measuring 52 feet wide by 95.6 feet long. Four lanes of traffic cross over the Oak Leaf Trail below at this location, with 8 foot wide sidewalks on the north and south sides. Wing walls and abutments are constructed of stone. |
