Additional Information: | Designated a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark in 1980 by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. In 2004, however, this plant was converted to natural gas and since then all the original coal-fired units and the main smokestacks have been removed, most of the original building was demolished and rebuilt, and all of the original building that remains is its west-facing brick wall. |
