It was used as the high school from 1883 to 1885, when twelve students were instructed by Odie Ewing. The Henderson family has lived there since 1902 and has owned the property since 1908. The land was originally purchased from the U.S. Government in 1839 by Asaph Pratt as a 640-acre plot.
