Additional Information: | This two story Mediterranean Revival style retail building was constructed in 1927. The buiding is clad in tan brick and has terra cotta, cast stone, and tile trim. The first floor contains four storefronts with a central entry door to the upper floor apartments. All four storefronts are partially or totally boarded over, but the original transoms remain visible in three of the storefronts. The apartment entry door retains its original wood-framed glass door, arched transom, and arched surround with polychrome terra cotta and rope molding. The second floor contains two shallow rectangular bays with decorative half timbering, roughcast stucco, and tile roofs. Both bays have replacement windows. Other windows on the second floor include replacement double hung windows arranged in pairs and triples. Each window opening has decorative tile corner blocks. A large geometric medallion, consisting of tiles and polychrome terra cotta, is located in the center of the upper story. The front facade is capped with a crenellated parapet with cast stone coping. |
