Thomas McLean lived here from 6/1974 until at least 2/1979. The Stephens House sits on property originally owned by James Tripp and given to Prosper Cravath in 1848. The Cravath family lived in the home built by Prosper until the death of Maria Cravath in 1891 and her son Pitt Cravath committed suicide in the house in 1898. The house was then moved by F.W. Tratt to the end of Janesville St. and was purchased by D.S. Cook on 4/25/1901. The Stephens House was then built on the property. |
