This privately owned 28-acre historic district includes 15 vernacular structures (main residence, log houses, barns and sheds) and one archeological site. Originally a summer residence for three families, Bonnie Oaks became an important artist retreat after WWI when Mildred Ormsby Green invited writers and musicians to spend their summers exchanging ideas in this relaxed and inviting atmosphere. |
