Located north of Marden Avenue, these 31 small, white cottages are in the park-like setting of the Wisconsin Veterans Home. Built between 1890 and 1925, this planned community provided housing for Civil War veterans and the wives and widows. Sizes range from tiny one-story cottages to two-story staff residences. Some are decorated with fish scale shingles; most are simple structures with enclosed porches. |
