Covering ten city blocks, the district includes 65 commercial, public, civic and industrial structures constructed of brick between 1850 and 1940. These two- and three-story buildings are of Greek Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Neoclassical and Swiss-chalet styles. The 1891 courthouse in Richardsonian Romanesque style is the heart of the district, which also includes the Arabut Ludlow Memorial Library (1904) in Neo-Classical style. |
