This unique resource at the north end of Baileys Harbor bay includes the two-story upper range light and keeper's house (1896); the lower range light (1869); a privy (c.1920); and an oil house (1900). The range lights provided guidance into the harbor rather than a warning. As such they did not utilize a single light in a conventional tower, rather two lights in substantially less imposing buildings. The district is owned by Door County and leased to the Ridges Sanctuary. |
