This middle-class residential district contains 56 houses surrounding picturesque Orton Park, Madison's first city park, which overlooks the shores of Lake Monona. Built primarily between 1881 and 1916 in Queen Anne, Craftsman, and Prairie School architectural styles, the district also contains several key landmark houses of excellent design.
