B-24 Warplane Navigator
Navigator Lieutenant Paul Seramur of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, poses in front of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator warplane after the Alexishafen strike. The name and mascot of the plane, "Naughty Blue Eyes," is painted on the side of the warplane. Seramur is holding his pup, "Cobber" in one arm and his gear in the other. Alexishafen was a Japanese occupied airbase located on the northeast coast of New Guinea (present day Papua New Guinea), near Madang. |

Robert Doyle was a civilian war correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal during World War II, covering the experiences of Wisconsin troops in the 32nd "Red Arrow" Division, an infantry division of the United States Army National Guard. The "Red Arrow" Division consisted mainly of soldiers from Wisconsin and Michigan. |
