Map of Mount Vernon with Byam's Addition, Dane County, Wisconsin
On left side map reads: "Note by the lithographer on the Original Plat there is a Certificate of Record signed by Resister of Dane Co. also a Certificate of the Secretary of State to which is attached the great Seal of the State of Wisconsin, omitted here for the want of room." The bottom right reads: "Sept. 1852 E. Miller C.E. Philander Byam. L.J. State of Wisconsin Dane County SS Witness J.(?) L. Powell Noah(?) Phelps, On this Fourth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty two before the undersigned a Notary Public in & for said State personally came the within. Name Philander Byam to me well know to be the identical person whose genuine Signature appears to the foregoing Plat and acknowledged so much thereof as is not embraced in a Plat as is duly Recorded in plat book p.p.10. Laid out by George G. Butts and so much thereof as is known as Leonard Levis' Addition to the town of Mount Vernon. Given under my hand and official Seal this fourth day of October in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty two. James L. Powell". There is a legend of "Streets and Avenues" in the upper right corner. |
