A woman and two children, photographed by a civil rights volunteer.<p>"Mrs. Ernestine Bishop, another most courageous freedom worker.  Last summer she walked alone at night the roads of Summit trying [to] get people to work for freedom. She unsuccessfully tried to send her six-year-old daughter to the all-white school. She has been forced to move several times because of her activities. Presently she and her four children (two pictured) are living with her mother. However there are 25 persons living in the four-room house."
