Original caption: "It's easy to change tragedy to comedy,--in a studio. Ruth Roland was battling for her life in a scene for her new Pathe serial, 'The Adventures of Ruth,' with Jack Mason, the assistant villain, when it was decided to make a still. Whitie, the property man, is here shown holding Miss Roland's feet, while Cameraman Davie is trying to coax Mason to look villainous."
