Wisconsin River Survey

These maps, from G.K. Warren's 1876 Report on the transportation route along the Wisconsin and Fox rivers in the State of Wisconsin between the Mississippi River and Lake Michigan, show three sections of the Wisconsin River: 34 miles below Portage, 77 miles below Portage at Muscoda, and at the mouth of the Wisconsin. The crests of underwater bars, courses of deepest water, sand terraces, limestone ridges, vegetation, and railroads are shown. |
