Neighborhood House N.B.B.O. Club Scrapbook: Packing Juanita's Suitcase
Members of the N.B.B.O. Club at Neighborhood House, posing with the contents of a suitcase they put together to send to a five-year-old girl in Spain. The club was established in 1931 as a social club for young women at the settlement house. Part of a project to promote "World Friendships Among Children," the club members spent two months making clothing, a scrapbook, and dolls to fill the suitcase. Head resident Gay Braxton is at the far left, and Mary Lee Griggs is third from the left in the back row. |
