This poster was published to elect a progressive president and congress in 1944, specifically, to help propel Franklin Roosevelt into an unprecedented fourth term. Text in the upper left reads, "Our Friend" and across the foot, National Citizens Political Action Committee." |

The artist, Ben Shahn, was a painter, printmaker, muralist, and activist. In 1944, he produced a series of posters for the Political Action Committee (PAC) of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO), a branch of organized labor, urging people to "register and vote." Litho in U.S.A. The union "bug" appears in the lower right corner. |
