The original caption reads: "Eight of the 11 C-35 (175-in. WB) trucks equipped with refrigerator bodies and used exclusively for delivering meats to the many stores of the Safeway Stores, Inc. in Los Angeles and vicinity. With the use of these trucks and a publicity campaign advertising new methods of handling meats backed by 'money back guarantee if dissatisfied' policy, sales have increased very materially during the last few months. More than 40 International trucks, equipped with a wide variety of bodies for delivering bakery goods, vegetables, groceries, milk, and ice cream, as well as meats, are now used by this firm in Los Angeles and near-by territory. A-875-Z shows one of the refrigerator trucks in front of a typical Safeway retail store." |
