Henry Barnbrock and Jerry Valentine
Half-length portrait of Henry Barnbrock and John Valentine. Written when he was a University of Wisconsin student, Barnbrock's 1916 thesis was influential in highlighting issues faced by the largely Italian immigrant population of the Greenbush neighborhood. The settlement house initially known as Community House opened in 1916 to address some of these issues; it was renamed Neighborhood House a year later. |
