The original caption reads: "Another big construction project is added to the long list of heavy-duty jobs performed by International trucks. The illustrations below and to the right show some of a fleet of International heavy-duty Model A-8 dump trucks owned by D.A. Whitley, Spokane, Wash., hauling contractor, at work on the sea locks that are being cut through solid rock to permit ocean-going vessels to pass around the new Bonneville Dam in Oregon and proceed some fifty miles farther up the Columbia River. This is an unusually tough job and one that requires truck stamina combined with unusual pulling power." Image taken directly from the January 1935 issue of "International Trail" magazine. |
